teenage music

Sex, drugs and rock and roll ruled my parents life as teenagers. Wild hair and spandex was the amazing hit but not for me. The poster artist for my teenage years of music would be a man of tattoos and swear words. If not a man it would be a woman with shadow eye make up a wild outfit and a glamor smile. This was the portal into a whole new generation.
As a teenager I started listening to hard rock for my early teenage years. Screaming yelling and loud drums was all that matter. Towards the middle of my teenage years I made a complete switch! I started to listen to rap music. The famous Lil Wayne and Gucci Mane ruled my Ipod. I would sit in my car and just blast the music. The bass would bounce my windows and break my speakers.
Rap music was a complete switch from the high pitch screaming and the sharp drums. The music was all about extreme bass and swift rapping. The words were spit out so fast that you could barely understand them. I had to listen to a song three or four times to even understand what it was saying. All i cared about was to sit in my car and feel the bass pound through the seat into my back.
The music was the best of every hang out night and random road trips. We would sit and all have a certain part that we would sing, or attempt to sing. We would sit and blast the music thinking it made us look so cool. I lost a lot of friends as a teenager and for everyone they got there favorite song dedicated to them.
It seems like every parent grows up gets old and hates who they were when they were a kid. For me though, I know that those loud beats and crazy nights will always stick. No matter how crazy my kids will get with their music I know they are always going to have fun.
